Meaningful discussion is an exchange of thoughts and ideas, which promotes intellectual curiosity. Every day I travel 40 minutes to my college. The article, unlike the Hegelian Dialectics, will not dwell in-depth arguments, rather it reflects on the excerpts of multiple discussions from the occupants of my car.

Teaching profession is a difficult task I reckon, indeed replied Mr. M. My friends, who are teaching in government colleges, even though paid handsomely, also often contemplate about the difficult task of being in a teaching profession. Just imagine comparing us being serving in a private sector he continued.

The conversation continued on the concern of our state’s expenses in education sector especially in higher education. It is estimated that the students who venture out of the state for better education costs crores of rupees. To this Ms. S, posited that the state government should device some plans to improve higher education, so that flux of students to other states can be lessened, hence, reduce some expenses.

Ms. A, brought about gender worries, not necessarily the rights of women, but pressing on the issue of unemployment among the male folks. Hinting on the college {St, Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, being one of the premier colleges in the state} which have more female faculties than the male counterparts, where/what is the population of unemployed gents do/go? Wisecrack, she says, in the days to come there may be chanting of male empowerment.

Being a senior teacher Mr. Z highlighted on the worrisome trend in academic. The present educational system of our state doesn’t seem to deliver quality education to the students. Quality of marking system and evaluation on the part of teachers coupled with underperformance of the students’ in the exams are some of the instances.

How about the issue of rising level of unemployment rate of our state, I raised, amid decline in agriculture- once a subsistence economy of the Nagas. Being unemployed and lackadaisical to engage in agricultural occupation, the Naga society may witness increase in anti-social elements. My argument was substantiated by Ms. S, indeed it’s a serious matter to ponder upon, which in the days to come would be a big menace to our society.

Ms. A ponder on the issue of CAA, isn’t it discriminatory and against the Constitution of India? Definitely, I replied, it will not only undermine the secular fabric of the nation but will also have an impact on International relations of India especially with neighbouring countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The conversation came to an abrupt end as we reached the campus and the 2nd bell rang, everybody in the campus freezes in their own position to observe the morning prayer for roughly around 5 minutes.
