Medziphema, September 23 (MExN): The 8th edition of the Inter-School Football Tournament, organized by the Medziphema Town Students’ Union, kicked off today at the Local Ground, Medziphema, under the theme “Unity Makes Victory.” A total of 10 teams are competing for the prestigious trophy in two categories: High School and Higher Secondary.
In the opening match, defending champions Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) delivered a stunning performance by thrashing Rivenburgh School 7-0. Hengtinthang, Lhousakhoto, Letboison (3 goals), Kevineito, and Suresh found the back of the net for GHSS, showcasing their dominance on the field.
The second match saw SFS High School claim a comfortable victory over Chakhroma Baptist Mission School, winning 3-0. Kikruneilie Kera scored twice, while Paogouhao added another goal to secure the win for SFS.
Earlier, Selemla S. Sangtam, SDO Medziphema, graced the occasion as the special guest and declared the tournament open.
