Jorhat Volleyball Club Assam and Michazou Mima remained unbeaten on day-2 to top the table of their respective Pool A and B of 9th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament 2022 (Men & Women) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on Thursday.
In Pool A league matches, Jorhat Volleyball Club Assam overcame Kiruphema Youth Organization with a set of 3-2.
They also won against St. Joseph’s College Jakhama with a set of 3-1 to win three matches and top the pool.
In the other matches, Kiruphema Youth Org. defeated Khonoma Youth Organization with a straight set 3-0. Waromung Sports Association, Mokokchung defeated Khonoma Youth Organization with a set of 3-2.
In Pool B league matches, Michazou Mima beat BKK Kezo Town with a set of 3-1 and won straight set 3-0 against Vision Quest club Zunheboto to make it three wins and top the pool.
In other matches, BKK Kezo Town defeated Kohima Science College, Jotsoma with a straight set 3-0. Seven Brothers Kiruphema defeated Kohima Science College Jotsoma with a set of 3-2.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Senapati, Manipur continued to dominate the championship winning their second match by straight set against St. Joseph’s College by 3-0.
Mystic Club Kohima came back stronger in the second match to beat Jorhat Volleyball Club Assam with a straight set 3-0.
Sodinie Kidima defeated Jorhat Volleyball Club Assam with a set of 3-1.
In the last match of the day, Mystic Club Kohima defeated St Joseph College, Jakhama with a set of 3-1. In the robin round league for the women’s category, each team will play against each other and the best two will progress to the final match.
