Mokokchung, September 28 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) Sunday School Teachers’ Conference concluded at Impur on September 27, with 933 delegates from 123 churches participating in the three-day gathering focused on Christian education.
Held from September 25 to 27 under the theme “Taküm Sempet Arangshiba” (Developing Life Skills), based on Philippians 1:9, the conference sought to equip Sunday School teachers in nurturing children and young people in the Christian faith. The conference featured sessions by Rev. Temsü Jamir, Executive Secretary, ABAM; Dr Lipoknenla Ozüküm, Associate Professor, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat; Rev. Dr Moanungsang, Secretary, Education & Literature, ABAM; and Mrs Narosenla, Director, Christian Education Ministry, MTBA.
Interactive sessions were facilitated by Mrs R. Asenla Jamir, Director, Christian Education Ministry, DABA; Dr Moalila, Assistant Professor, Clark Theological College, Aolijen; and Dr Lipoknenla Ozüküm. Ms Bideno Kikon, Secretary, Christian Education, NBCC, also participated in the conference.
The three-day gathering included fellowship, learning, worship and reflection on Christian education, providing teachers an opportunity to "renew their commitment" to Sunday School ministry and strengthen their understanding of their role in the spiritual formation of children and young people.
The participation of 933 delegates from 123 churches was described as reflecting the commitment of ABAM churches to Sunday School and Christian education. The conference concluded with participants returning to their respective churches with "renewed enthusiasm and a deeper sense of responsibility" towards Sunday School ministry.
