• Yes. The public is appalled as how money sanctioned by the centre is utilised for infrastructural development in sports. Despite the due share we get as other states do, Nagaland state is lagging behind even in sports. It has not even a single academy to provide good coaching at home to enhance their calibre to the promising potentials and talents many young Nagas possess.
• Yes. The administrative body exit only for itself, it does everything for itself and noting for common man even in sports they control who joins the clubs etc, if the cream stays at the top what else can you expect but detrimental in growth of sports
• Yes. Incomplete infrastructure like state stadium, cricket stadium etc. for decades after funds were fully utilised.
• Yes. The government should use its common sense and depute the right person for the right position. While jockeying for power and trying to put their own officials in key positions in lucrative departments, the politicians and government mess up things. Put the right person in the right position and things will improve.
Some of those who voted NO had this to say:
• No. We cannot just generalize and point fingers. To be constructive we have to also understand the variables. There is no doubt that sporting infrastructure is in a bad shape. To do this we need sportsmen, administrators, contractors and politicians to put their head together and come out with a policy and implement them. There should be some public bodies to monitor the progress of these policies.
• No, we cannot blame the government alone. There are many other factors which are responsible for it.
• No, at least in cricket there has been some progress. Once the PDA government settles down, I am confident it will go all out in this front.

• To really improve sports in Nagaland, we need to introduce training and coaching camps at an early age in schools, villages, and so on. Look at Mizoram through their 'Catch Them Young Project,' they have revolutionize basketball in their state. Now, Mizoram is a leading player in developing young people in basketball and soon a lot of Mizo players will be representing the country. It needs planning and above all the commitment to pursue policy and projects. In Nagaland, we have many talkers but no doers.
