Adopt non-violence to solve Indo-Naga problem: NPCC

Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Congress today said the only way to solve the 8 decade old Naga political problem is “non-violence.” Adopt non-violence as medium to solve the problem, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie appealed to both NSCN (K) and GoI in a press statement. Therie said 60 years of violence have “inflicted more injury in the blood of Nagas.” “Our view is that peaceful talks is the only option towards achieving solution. The words of the Chief Minister of Nagaland - ‘Broad Consultation,’ should mean inclusiveness of all, he added. The Congress also faulted the GoI for striking NSCN (K) in the border “when talks just began with 6 NNPGs after almost a two decade wait.” “We do not agree to violence as means to solve the problem.” GOI must also learn from the 16 Point Agreement. “Although people are participating in the State elections, the people still feel there is a need to solve the political problem amicably,” Therie pointed out.
