‘Alumni are ambassadors & integral part of university’

Nagaland University Alumni Association launched 
 

Dimapur, May 6 (MExN): The Nagaland University Alumni Association was launched at Nagaland University, Hqs. Lumami with a formal programme on May 2. In the programme the Vice Chancellor Prof. BK Konwar delivered the presidential address. He emphasised on the importance to have Alumni Association of Nagaland University like all other central universities in the country.  He further mentioned that the Alumni are the ambassadors and integral part of the university, therefore the university look forward for their continued association and support to the Alma Mater. 

Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD, Government of Nagaland, R Tohanba, who was one among the first batch of the students of Nagaland University and also the first President of the PGSU-Kohima under Nagaland University was the first main speaker in the programme. He mentioned that the occasion was an epoch making one in the history of Nagaland University. Further, he assured that together, the Alumni Association will work towards the welfare of the society and the progress of the university. 

Other Alumni members, Dr. Rakesh, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, NU, Lumami, Dr. Ratan Kaurinta, Assistant Professor, Kohima and Dr. Atongo, Assistant Professor, NU, Lumami also spoke on the occasion. The speakers expressed appreciations and thanked the University authority for taking the initiative to start Nagaland University Alumni Association. The speakers focus on the areas where the Alumni Association can contribute towards the progress of the Alma Mater, besides maintaining continued relations among the University fraternity.
