
WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 15 (MExN): As part of the ongoing Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2019, Anaemia screening was conducted at Seluku village under Chukitong Block here at Community Hall, Seluku on September 15.
The screening was organised in coordination with department of Social Welfare-ICDS, Health and Family Welfare, RD and community leaders, informed a press release issued by O Mhathung Jami, District Facilitator, NHP Wokha.
A brief programme was held before the screening during which participants were enlightened about Anaemia by ANM Chukitong PHC, Wothunglumi. She said Anaemia was a medical condition characterised inadequate red blood cells mainly due to lack of iron and vitamins. In order to be safe from anaemia, the ANM suggested consumption of iron-rich food such as green vegetables and fruits.
District Facilitator, NHP Wokha, O Mhathung Jami highlighted the activities undertaken under the aegis of Nagaland Health Project in Seluku village. Jami called upon the community, especially the pregnant women and children, to avail the services provided by NHP. ASHA co-ordinator, Thungchanbeni Tsopoe also stressed on the various services and facilities available in the village itself with the ASHA. Sr. Supervisor ICDS, Zubenthung Jami briefed the participants about the month-long Poshan Maah celebration and what it intends to achieve.
Apart from anaemia screening, general health check up was also conducted by the medical personnel from Chukitong PHC.
