Dimapur June 18 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has expelled its General Secretary, Vingutuo Rutsa, for his involvement in the murder of Khoney Chang who was killed by some youths, which included the mentioned student executive, on June 15 at Kohima.
The ANCSU while condemning the barbaric act and terming it as inhuman, appealed to the authorities concern to take stern action against the culprits and punish them according to relevant laws. “We the ANCSU will like to make it clear to the students’ community, that Vingutuo Rutsa has been terminated from the post of General Secretary and the ANCSU has nothing to do with his involvement in the case” a release issued by Chichamo Kikon, president and Mhonbemo Ngullie, Speaker of the organization, stated.
The ANCSU also extended it condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the God Almighty grant peace and solace to the departed soul. “The ANCSU would like to make an appeal to all the good-thinking citizens of the Naga society to come forward and join hands t stop such inhuman acts in the near future”, the students’ body appealed.
In a separate statement the Eastern Nagaland Students Federation (erstwhile TMSF) also condemned the murder and slammed it as totally unacceptable that an innocent man should be brutally murdered. “The barbaric act of the murderers has shown their uncivilized and inhuman mentality towards all Naga people. They are unfit to live in this civilized society” General Secretary of ENSF, P Methna Konyak stated in a release while expressing strong disgust and contempt over the incident.
“ENSF also strongly demands that all responsible persons should be punished befitting the sadness. We the federation also convey our condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives. May Artang Khoney rest in peace” the Federation prayed.
