Kohima, March 21 (MExN): The 4th Annual Theatre Day of the Department of English, St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama was held on March 20 at the college auditorium. A press release from the college mentioned that a day like this is set apart for the students to explore art and other theatrics. Five classes of the department took part in the drama competition. BA II Semester ‘C’ with The Great Gatsby, BA II Semester ‘D’ with Love of One’s Neighbour, and BA IV Semester ‘F’ with ‘The Untold Story’ secured the first position. Meanwhile, BA IV Semester ‘E’ with ‘Seasons with Zoey’ won the second position and BA VI Semester ‘B’ with ‘If I had a Second Chance’ secured the third position. James HK, the Head of Department declared the results, while Fr. Dr. Joy Thomas gave away the prizes. There were also surprise awards like Best Actor and Actress which went to Runshito Lims of IV Semester ‘F’ and Abigail Kyong of IV Semester ‘E’. The day also saw entertaining performances from the students. At the start of the event, Hinokali invoked God’s blessing for the day, while Vikishe Q Sumi, the president of the department delivered the welcome address. The vote of thanks was proposed by Kevise-U Angami, the Cultural Secretary of the department and the programme was hosted by Kevisa Phira and Sentisola Tzudir.
