APO meet resolves

Kohima, Oct 14 (MExN): The executive council of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) held a meeting on October 13 last at Kohima and adopted certain resolutions.

The APO placed on record the morale courage of the Kidima people to forgive one another and make peace again to live in harmony by burying the hatchets which had carved wounds on one another over the conflicting issue of the nomenclature of Kidima village for two decades.

The APO also placed on record the wisdom and moral courage of the Tenyimi Central office bearers under the leadership of its president ZM Sekhose.

While appreciating the courage and wisdom of the people of Kidima village who had wisely responded to the challenge of the hour, the APO had placed on record its indebtedness to the TCU Jury Board for restoring unity at Kidima.

“APO is proud that one of its constituent villages, Kidima, had the ability to face reality so as to restore unity among the people and to regain its glory,” said APO president Mhiesizokho Zinyu and general secretary Sapa Kintso.

The APO also strongly condemned the abominable act of serving a threatening extortion letter to Dr. Shurhozelie, minister for planning, KC Angami and Pele Khezhie, Class I Contractors; threatening their lives and their families by some unidentified miscreants.

The APO resolved that the incident was the most unfortunate and Nagas could not allow such sinister designs.

The APO called upon all sensible citizens to condemn such abominable acts, and further urged the government to bring to book the culprits who are bent upon disturbing peace in the state.

While asserting a strong view that the Nagas should continue to respect the traditional boundary of the respective tribes in order to maintain mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among the various communities, the APO also appealed to all communities living on the Angami traditional territories to fully co-operate with the organization.
