•- As a concerned citizen of Dimapur I am obliged make an appeal to the government in the interest of the people. Mobile phone tower numbers in Dimapur have grown which service providers would say is in order to improve their coverage but the health hazard caused by mobile phone towers which is a serious issue and globally known fact is being given least importance.
Cell phone towers are increasing and radiation emitted from the towers is silently taking its toll like deadly weapon on people of Dimapur but the concerned agency responsible to enforce guidelines or rules and regulation for cell phone tower radiation limits is apparently ignoring the health threat of the people.
On the other hand with the telecommunication companies or service providers willing to pay rent for installation of towers and property owners who may not be aware of the health hazard are letting their building for cell phone towers to earn extra bid of income. However, in cities like Ahmedabad, Rajasthan, Jaipur, Punjab and metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad High Court has banned installation of cell phone towers in residential areas.
Since the state government is responsible ensuring health safety of the people in the state I, on behalf of the people appeal to the Nagaland state government to chalk out a policy to crack a whip on cell phone towers in the residential areas and also remove if any tower found to be unnecessarily erected/installed. And also come up with strict health safety guidelines to lower radiation limits.
