Appeals state govt to solve boundary issue

Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): The Dimapur District GBs Association (DDGBA) has condemned the March 22 incident at Lamhainamdi village which resulted in the killing of 3 people by armed miscreants over an alleged land dispute.

“The association stands strongly against such merciless and brutal acts which does not do any good for the well-being and peaceful co-existence of the society and out rightly condemn the act,” DDGBA President Khehovi V Chophi and General Secretary L Ponghok Phom stated in a press release on Wednesday.

Further, the association appealed to all concerned to refrain from giving “communal colour howsoever or do anything that would worsen the situation” and instead, put collective effort towards restoring peace and tranquility in the land. Let the government probe into the matter and take befitting action against those who are found guilty, it added.

It meanwhile stated that the incident “would have not occurred if the state government was sincere enough in timely resolving the boundary dispute that has been going on for a long time” and urged the government to initiate a process to find a solution to the boundary issue.

The DDGBA also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
