Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): An initiative has been taken by Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (N) to establish a processing plant, along with the Konyak Union who assisted in allocation of land for further implementation of the project. According to a PRO HQ IGAR (N) press release, about 5000 sq ft of land was donated by Konyak Baptist Church (KBBB Centre) at Mon for the project. The state-of-the-art machinery comprising of two power oil burners, a drying chamber and a polishing unit with the capacity to process 2000 kgs of cardamom in a cycle of 20 hours have been installed at the a processing plant, it said. The facility of processing plant is available to locals on non profit basis and was inaugurated on March 16, it added.
