DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): The Assam Rifles today stated that it adheres to “strict ethical guidelines and international standards while handling crowd control situations, with utmost emphasis on the safety and well-being of civilians.”
A press release from the PRO Defence said that any use of chemical weapons is strictly prohibited under national and international laws, “and we, as a responsible security force, take our commitment to human rights and international conventions very seriously.”
It further stated that allegations made in a news report have “not only caused unwarranted panic and fear among the public but have also unfairly tarnished the reputation of our organization.”
