Are you confident in Nagaland Government’s ability to curb back door entry and irregular appointments? Why?

Some of those who voted YES had this to say:

•    Yes. Why not? It's more a question of political will than of government’s ability. At the moment, however, the demand side needs to be sensitized and informed about the "unethicalness" of getting the job through the back door. Some kind of education drive is needed to raise the awareness in every nook and corner about its illegality and un-Christianess across all sections of the public. This is so because even the educated ones seem to crumble down under the pressure at their moment of weakness.

•    Yes, if they have the political will to do so. In Nagaland it is actually not difficult to stop back door appointment because everyone knows everyone.

•    Yes, provided all are committed to it.

Some of those who voted NO had this to say:

•    No. It will be possible only in paper.

•    No not confident as long as the same corrupted lot holds the office. There are honest officers also, give them the upper hand IF the government is serious against CORRUPTION.

•    No. Not sure efforts are bipartisan.

•    A Big No. To completely uproot and to curb corruption will be an unattainable goal as long as the society accepts corruption as something normal and right. Our society is in chaos and disorder. Corruption is everywhere, starting from our own kitchen, churches, and local organisations to bureaucracy, political institutions.

•    No. Big No, the System itself is corrupted. There's not even a single department which is free from backdoor appointments. We are living in a society where Corruption and Backdoor appointments are so common, that it looks like normal and right.

•    No. Most of them, be it government officials or politicians, are all in a sense backdoor appointment. There is no sense of consciousness and responsibility to help, support or develop society. Backdoor appointment means people pay huge for a government job. This is the best income generating source.

•    No. As usual Commitment from government to curb backdoor appointments in front of public and masses is not unprecedented rather it is familiar to all of us and we have been hearing promises every now and then,  to curb backdoor appointments from our politicians or ruling government but it is mere "talks" and nothing else. We public as always don't get a chance to see the clear picture behind the curtain. It is easy to talk big and make promises on papers but implementing the strict rules against illegal appointment has never been done completely. The reason I am so sure about this, is because i have seen with my own eyes, some people are being recruited through backdoor and when i asked them, they said they paid money for their jobs simultaneously some replied they assisted the particular candidates throughout elections by helping them through any means. So in the mist of the unclear room, far from people all the work is being done, quietly among ministers and illegal means job seeker either through money or by helping them throughout elections Offering the politicians and candidates pigs, money, physical presence and by any other means. We all see, there is a connection between illegal appointments and elections. If the government itself is part of it then what new and good shall we expect? This will continue fun fact indeed isn't? And i cannot ignore the real factors that highly contribute to prevalent illegal appointments are nepotism, favouritism, cronyism etc… I blame not government alone for that but public also because when it comes to survival of “my life" or "My children's life," we seem to ignore the truth and embrace false path with closed eyes. Just my suggestion: According to me to completely curb the menace of illegal appointment group should be form on higher level to check on illegal appointments free from government power.

•    No. Nagaland the most corrupted politician and dishonest bureaucrats states in India.

•    When they do it, how can we have confidence in them.

•    Big No. System itself is corrupted. We need Jesus to restore it to sanctity!

•    Lol. Expecting the corrupt to curb backdoor appointments.

•    No. Rome was not built in a day.

•    No... They are not even willing

•    No. There is no way they can stay away from it. First of all, Naga politicians are all power mongers. Secondly, Naga people in general are all very selfish. People will only vote for the ones who are willing to fulfill their selfish motives.

•    No. Our government is too corrupted that I don’t trust them. For love for money the government can go up to any extend.

•    The government itself is corrupt. One with a greasy hand cannot say, "Here, let me pad off dust from your shirt."

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:

•    The government alone cannot be held responsible. Our Naga society has become so corrupted. We are all responsible. We need social reformation.

•    There is no possibility to curb illegal or backdoor appointment because it is the government itself who are making all the appointments.

•    Corruption system will continue so long as government job holds complete hegemony over our people.

•    Comparing to other States, Nagaland is a small state. ... It depends upon political leaders and bureaucrats, they have to stop looting and spread out for infrastructures, create jobs opportunities protocol…

•    Staff Selection Board is a good way to begin with.
