Are young Nagas ready to take leadership roles in the social, economic and political arena?

Those who voted yes had this to say:
•    We cannot keep on grumbling over the past but need to look forward for a better future. The future will perhaps bring both the ‘foes’ and ‘friends’ together. While valuing the contribution made be the elders, if they continue to turn the national struggle as fighting against ‘pride’ and ‘ego’ due to past grievances, they younger generation can longer remain quit
•    We are fed up of old traditional starta, so confined and orthodox.
•    Yes bcoz young Nagas or say the young generations are all equipped with the necessary situations and they all can understand the social, economical or even the political arena far more better then anyone
•    Very conscious about the situation
•    Because the situation is demanding.
•    Yes the elder should give chance for the younger ones
•    Pragmatically speaking, young Nagas are not. Why? becoz the older ones are still posing their fatal identity which is considered savage. Once those foolishness is gone we can think of getting involve. We young Nagas are there already but You know what? They are a handpacks of some factions!!! Nagas seriously need new, God fearing generation to lead any ROLES.
•    Youths are ready to take on the challenges. The sore tag dubbed on the youth like not being religious, indulging in gambling, tobacco and alcohol, drugs and casual sex do not necessarily make them evil and morally corrupt. Who hasn't done it one way or the other? This is just a part of life cycle. Sometimes, I feel that the conservative nature of our Church organisations comes in the way of exploiting the full potential of the youth resources. One reason I can substantiate here. If a person doesn't go to church, he/she becomes an outcast in Naga society. Think about this. For better or for worse, Church plays a very influential role in Naga society. The more you have the responsibility, the more you have to be careful with the lives of the people. Majority of the people are simply gullible.
•    Young Nagas are broad minded, with more exposure to the outside world and the happenings...of course, with joint effort and support of the elders things can yield better outcomes.
•    They are smart, they know what they do.
•    The younger generation are access to better education and are more aware of the context that they are living in today.
•    If given the chance, young Nagas can definitely take leadership role. New ideas and leadership style is required.
•    Absolutely yes, now young Nagas has traveled around the world and explore the unexplored world. If old folks open up the door for the emerging young people and give an opportunity then definitely dynamic young Nagas will bring holistic development in the society. I believe this century belongs to the young people, and young people are more creative and willing to try out things. See western world always encourage young people to take up a leadership roles, and even that’s happening in the Asia such as China (watch out for the 2 leaders who will be probably the successor) and in India Rahul Ghandhi want to embrace with the fast-ever-changing world, then young people should take up the more leadership role in our society.
•    Its about time that Naga youths start taking leadership in all areas.
•    Young and dynamic leaders are ready to take the leadership roles to higher level.
•    Yes, because we Naga are the people of great will, the people who can adopt the environment of any given place. It is the older generation that is not given the chance to the younger generation. Why don't the older generation take some rest? Give the task to us. And we'll show it our capacity in the given task.

Those who voted NO had this to say:
•    We need youth with stronger morals and the youth are not yet matured enough. Yes the youth are educated, brilliant, talented, full of vigor but they lack honesty, discipline and selflessness!!
•    Naga youths still needs lot of brushing up to do. Specially "feeling shy" attitude has to change!!!
•    The youth is still in confused state of mind.
•    Well, young Nagas are more into booze and gals as of now.. not saying older Nagas are better!

Those who voted MAYBE had this to say:
•    Its a question with conflicting responses. On one hand the younger Nagas are more dynamic, intelligent, rationale and are aware of what needs to be done, but unfortunately they do not know their own roots. On the other hand the older generation know their roots but are very dogmatic, rigid and are not open to new ideas. But keeping up with events, it is important that younger Nagas must take more leadership, only than Naga society will grow.
•    Most young are materialistic by culture called globalization
•    Maybe, given the currents state of affairs so prevalent, it has become imperative for young Nagas to be battle ready for more active and greater participation in making a difference and in being agents of change. They are the POWEHOUSES. There are the times for them to stand up and make their presence felt in a powerful way.
