KOHIMA, AUGUST 4 (MExN): In pursuant of the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in various locations of Kohima district, ADC Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori has notified certain areas to be Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones. Jakhama village (1 km radius of infected premises) and Khonoma village (1 km radius of infected premises) have been declared as infected zones; while 10 km radius from the infected premises (9 km radius outside the infected zones) have been declared as surveillance zones. The order banned slaughter of pigs; import and export of pigs and piglets; and transportation of pigs and pork in the aforementioned zones.
