Assam Rifles celebrated its 183rd Raising Day

Assam Rifles celebrated its 183rd Raising Day at HQ DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong on March 24. The occasion was marked by a Wreath Laying Ceremony by Director General Assam Rifles Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM at Assam Rifles War Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The ceremony was followed by a Sainik Sammelan where the Director General addressed all ranks of Assam Rifles. He commended their steadfast commitment, professionalism & hard work and exhorted to continue the good work. During the address, he presented the DGAR Banner to Mighty Six Assam Rifles Battalion for its outstanding all-round performance. This was followed by tea with troops where the Director General interacted with the troops.
