Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Atal Tinkering Lab by Atal Innovation Mission, fully sponsored by Niti Ayog of Government of India was inaugurated at MGM Higher Secondary School, Dimapur by Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan and Director of MGM Group of Schools, Calcutta Diocese on April 1. 

A press release from the school stated that Dr Joseph highlighted the service rendered to the society by the education missions of MGM Churches under the Diocese of Calcutta. A scholar, research guide and visiting professor to different universities in Environmental Biology, Mar Dionysius highlighted the importance of proper understanding of technological advancements to solve life problems at a very young age.  

Farewell to outgoing Principal
Earlier, the MGM School also bid farewell to the outgoing Principal Rev Fr Dr PS Varghese. He has been promoted to the position of Vice President of the school.

Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in his presidential address enumerated the great service Fr PS Varghese rendered to the cause of education. He said that Rev Fr PS Varghese is a Godly man who is an able administrator, educationist, writer, poet, priest and a family man who perfectly carried out his multidimensional responsibilities with ease. Bishop Mar Dionysius also praised him for his time management skills. 

In his address Rev Dr PS Varghese thanked the Almighty Lord for making him an instrument of Learning and administration. He also thanked the staff and all the members of MGM family for their support and understanding in delivering his responsibilities as the principal of the school.

Principal Reji Abraham delivered the welcome address. Gaurav Rai of Class 10 B spoke on behalf of the students and Ratan Chakraborty, Staff Secretary spoke on behalf of the staff members. The programme was begun with an invocation from Wangshila, Asst. Teacher. Vote of thanks was offered by Biswajit Paul, Headmaster. Reji Kuriakose, Secretary, School Managing Committee and KC Mathew Treasurer were also present on the occasion.

Another highlight of the programme was felicitation of Keneingunuo Angami who was recently awarded as the Best Vaccinator by the Health Ministry as she had administered more than 26,000 vaccinations in the state of Nagaland during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
