Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): The State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two day online training program on ‘Recent Innovations in Agriculture and its up scaling Strategies’ for ATMA functionaries from February 11 to 12.
22 ATMA functionaries from all the districts of Nagaland attended the online training programme which was aimed to motivate the ATMA functionaries and help them be up to date with technical knowledge about techniques involved in recent innovations in agriculture and its up scaling strategies, SAMETI Director informed in a press release on Friday.
Resource persons for the training programme were Dr Mary N Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Rural Development, NU, SASRD, Medziphema and Dr Harendra Verma, Scientist Plant breeding & Genetics, ICAR, New Medziphema.
During the training session, the resource person highlighted the importance of modern agriculture and its latest technology in helping farmers to connect with the technology information they need through novel ways.
Upscaling practices of recent improved varieties of major crops suitable in Nagaland and management and practices of the vermin-composting and it benefits to agriculture was disseminated to the trainees to practice and implement for the welfare of the farmers.
Feedback was received from all participants and e-certificates were issued to all the participants.
