ATMA Medziphema & Dhansiripar blocks hold training for farmers

Medziphema, September 13 (MExN): With an aim to promote extension activities through agripreneurs, ATMA Dimapur under Medziphema and Dhansiripar block organized a training programme for the farmers on “Implementation of extension activities through agripreneurs, ACABC” on September 12 at ATMA training hall, Dimapur.


Resource person for the training was Dr Temsutoshi Ao (Agripreneur). During the programme, he sensitized the farmers about ACABC, a scheme launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India which offer extension services to farmers, support agricultural development and create gainful self-employment.


ACABC’s are envisaged to provide expert advice and services to farmers on various aspects to enhance productivity of crops and animals and increase the income of the farmers. He said that the nature of agriculture has been changing rapidly and farmers currently need a range of support so as to fill the gaps in the public sector extension system.


Dr Temsutoshi also advised the farmers on various aspects of piggery and poultry management and highlighted them on his clinical services for animals, feed and fodder management.


He also encouraged the farmers to go organic and use organic bio fertilizers, micronutrients for maximum production in their farming practices. An interaction with the farmers was also held.


A total of 32 farmers attended the programme. Crop boosters and mineral mixtures were distributed to the farmers.
