Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Niuland Block conducted within district training on “Prevention and management of disease in livestock” at S Hetoyi village on September 13.
A press release issued by the ATMA Niuland block stated that the resource person Dr Vekuto, VAS, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, spoke on the various diseases in poultry, pigs and cattle.
He highlighted the importance of timely vaccination and de-worming in livestock and also apprised the farmers on new and improved techniques such as artificial insemination. De-worming tablets, vitamins and mineral mixture were also distributed to the farmers.
Further, mobilization of farmers group was conducted for the King Chilli farmers, where Nzamo Kikon, ATM Niuland Block spoke on the management practices for various pests and diseases infecting the crop.
The release added that later in Ghotovi Village, a within district training was also conducted on “Post Harvest Management practices in upland paddy” where Nzamo Kikon spoke on the management of storage pests such as fungi, rodents and insects.
