AYO, ASU meets Nagaland Chief Minister on bad roads

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 16 (MExN): Concerned over present state of road condition in Kohima district, a delegation of Angami Youth Organisation(AYO) and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) today called on Chief Minister TR Zeliang here at his residential office and urged him to initiate immediate action on war-footing.

According to a CMO media cell press release, the delegation led by AYO president Neinguvotuo Krose and ASU president Visako Rino, submitted a joint representation and briefed the chief minister about the pathetic condition of the roads in and around Kohima town and all its adjacent routes.

“The approaching State Hornbill festival and the festive seasons will very soon witness the flow of outside visitors both domestic and international. It is very embarrassing that routes between Kohima to Kisema and Kohima to Zubza River do not even deserve to be called roads and in addition to this, all roads leading to various colonies are self-explanatory by their condition,” they stated.

The delegation expressed confidence that the government would mitigate the deplorable condition before the next summer season arrives. They pointed out that natural disaster situations occurred this year in a massive and destructive manner.

“Mudslides and landslides played havoc to all our roads both on State and National Highways and now with the dry season, measures must be activated to improve our roads because if it is ignored again, we would continue to suffer endlessly.”

After a patient hearing, the chief minister discussed with the delegation on series of developmental activities being implemented in the State.
