More than 180 students from Cambridge School, Kiphire today got an opportunity to get the exposure and handling arms from the 46 Assam Rifles at their camp.
Interacting with the correspondence, Major Shiyam Dutt of the 46 Assam Rifles Alpha Company said that the intention of arms display is to let the students get an opportunity to observe different kinds of the arms and to invoke the eagerness in the minds of the students to take up military service as career.
Faculty and students of the Cambridge School expressed gratitude to the 46 AR and the company commander for giving an opportunity to let them get exposed to different kinds of arms.
Some of the students who were handling the arms displayed showed their eagerness to join military and were enquiring to the Assam Rifles personnel to explain more in details of the different kind of arms displayed.
Some of the arms dislayed were AK rifles, SLR, Granite launcher, 9 mm, sten carbine, 84mm rocket launcher, LMG and trench mortar.
Students were served refreshment after the programme.
