CANSSEA, WDVCA raises problem of public to SBI

DIMAPUR: E. Yenrenthung Patton, Vice Chairman, Wokha District Voluntary Consumer Association (WDVCA) and Yihamo Lotha, President CANSSEA Wokha Unit through a press release has informed that a joint meeting of the CANSSEA Wokha Unit and the WDVCA was held on October 26 in the LTC Hall and has apprised the SBI representative R. Tsopoe and En Zaren Kikon SDE (Telecom) of the problems faced by the public.

It was stated that the members had unanimously resolved to impress upon the concerned departments to immediately set the process of implementation with regard to the following:-

1. To take all necessary steps by the SBI wokha to increase the cash retention limit of Rs. 7.10 crore so as to avoid late release of salaries and other payment which has been the usual practice of the bank.

2. The harassment of the customers by the SBI staff by way of frequent out-station leave be stopped immediately except under unavoidable circumstances.

3. Separate counter or separate days for payment of salaries and pensions.

4. Immediate setting up of inquiry counter at SBI Wokha.

5. Loans to be disbursed/facilitated immediately as per MoU guidelines and provisions as and when all formalities are completed.

6. Prompt and proper service and maintenance of Landline, WLL and Cell Phone services in Wokha.

7. Immediate posting of JTO (Micro Wing) at Wokha.

8. Extension of last date of payment of service bills to avoid pay day rush hour.

9. Augmentation of mobile network for extensive coverage in Wokha district.

10. Immediate strengthening of staff of both Telecom and State Bank of India Wokha Branch.

It was also stated that the CANSSEA Wokha Unit and WDVCA has resolved to seek legal redressal for the delay in the payment of salaries for the month of September besides deciding to hold a consultative meeting with public utility departments from time to time in the interest and welfare of the greater common good.
