CBCMHK combined fathers' camp underway

Phek, September 14 (MExN): A  three-day combined fathers’ camp for  Thurutsuswu & Khutsa Baptist Churches sponsored by the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers' Hill Kohima (CBCMHK), which  began on September 13 is underway at Thurutsuswu Baptist Church (TBC) under the theme, "Stand firm in the faith; Be Men of courage" (I Corinthians 16:3).


A press release issued by CBCMHK camp media coordinator, Kuzhovesa Soho stated that the 2nd day of the father’s camp began with a devotional talk service taken up by CBCMHK Associate Pastor, Asune Swuro.


CBCMHK Pastor, Rev Dr Wepre Mero, dwelt on the topic, "Seek the Lord & Live" during the gospel worship service-II. He urged upon the fathers to focus on God as the priority in their lives and also urged them to seek God in every pursuance and be blessed in abundance.


CBCMHK Deacon Mayhu Sasu shared on the topic, "Fathers role in parenting" during the Session-I service and urged the campers to be more serious being a father and pursue their life as a responsible father. 


CBCMHK Sr Pastor, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, spoke on the topic, "Renewing of marital vows & relationship." He stated that holy matrimony is the goodwill of God and urged the campers to strictly abide by the marital vows and maintain a healthy relationship between husband and wife.


“Anything that embarrasses the cordial process of marital vows are totally against the wishes and will of God and abstains themselves from acquiring salvation,” Phesao said.


He further held that marriage is the holy proceedings and one should uphold it in letter and in spirit.


Phesao further urged the campers to retrospect themselves that bounds them during their matrimony and “live a pleasant and holy marital life.”


He appealed the fathers to lead a life like captains and coaches, and not like that of a King, and further urged them to consider the family as the number one office, and the highest priority in their lives.


The 144 campers were divided into 3 groups: Daniel, Jermiah and Joshua.


The day also witnessed a recreational time where the three teams along with the Kohima official team competed in a penalty shootout. The winners of the penalty shootout were the Kohima team while Jeremiah team came second.
Meanwhile, CBCMHK Associate Pastor Thujoneyi Veswuh, dwelt on the topic, "As for me and my family we will serve the Lord" during the Gospel Worship-III Service.
