Remains hopeful that Nagaland government will make positive difference
Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): The Clean Election Movement (NBCC) Team has expressed apprehension about having an opposition-less government in a democratic state. “It appears that regional political parties have become too weak to give a good fight,” Clean Election Movement (NBCC) Convenor Dr Villo Naleo stated in a press release received here on Wednesday.
Despite this, the CEM (NBCC) team remained hopeful and wished the government success in making a positive difference in the state. Congratulating the NDPP-BJP alliance for forming a government for the second time in Nagaland, it said: “We will keep our fingers crossed, firstly to pray for you and secondly to see you making a difference.”
The team also expressed its blessings for the 60 MLAs with the “Franciscan Benediction,” a prayer that seeks to inspire and empower individuals to work towards justice, freedom, and peace.
Among others, the prayer calls upon God to instill discomfort in the hearts of the MLAs towards ‘easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships,’ and to ignite anger towards injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people. The blessing further asks God to bless the MLAs with tears for those who suffer pain, rejection, hunger, and war, so that they may reach out and comfort them, and to grant them ‘enough foolishness to believe that they can make a difference in the world.’
