CIH & College of Agri Tripura conduct farmers training

Participants with others during the three days farmers training programme organised by Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema in collaboration with College of Agriculture, Tripura from March 15 to 17.
  Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): Three days farmers training programme was organised by Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema in collaboration with College of Agriculture, Tripura from March 15 to 17.   During the training the following topics were included; “Post harvest loss reduction and value addition of potential horticulture crops for livelihood in Tripura”, “Technological advancement for HDP and canopy management for enhanced production in horticultural crops” and “Advances in production technologies of horticultural crops, nursery management and propagation of horticultural crops”.   As a part of the training, the participants were taken for a field exposure visit on canopy management, High Density Planting and Meadow Orchard at Horticulture Research Centre (HRC), Nagicherra. The resource persons for the trainings were eminent Scientist & Horticulturist from Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture and ICAR Tripura Centre.   The valedictory programme was graced by Krishnadhan Das, MLA, 3- Bamutia Assembly Constituency and Sudarshan Paul, General Secretary, Kisan Morcha (Tripura) whereby seeds and planting materials were distributed to the trainees.   Altogether 216 farmers participated at the three days farmers training, out of which 86 participants were male and 130 participants were female.
