Stating its support to the USLP, the apex student body of the Sangtam community further appealed all the heads of departments and government servants to act with restrain while dealing with their fellow beings.

In a separate statement, the CWSK backed the USLP’s decision stating that, “As administrative head of the district it is expected of Deputy Commissioner to work closely with all stakeholders taking into consideration the aspirational needs of the people in the district.”

The recent incident, it said, is a brazen example of how the district head is “thoughtlessly and selfishly functioning.” It alleged that the ‘working system’ of the incumbent DC was uncalled for and “unlikely that it will be remedied in near future.”

As such, it demanded the removal of the DC with immediate effect, in the interest and welfare of general public of Kiphire district.

The Singrep Village Council also condemned the ‘despicable attitude’ of the DC and stated that the Singrep village has “unanimously resolved to stand by the decision of USLP in removing the incumbent DC within 7 days.”

The council further appealed the authority to check the withdrawal of any funds by the incumbent DC during his tenure, alleging that “he is likely to play mischief to empty our District's fund and vanish.”

It also warned of “stern action” if their appeal is not taken into consideration.
