Minister for School Education, C M Chang while maintaining that the School Education Department is one of the most important government departments, as it moulds the younger generation called upon the officials and staff of his department to work with sincerity and dedication for a better future.
In his maiden visit to the School Education Directorate after taking over the charge as the Minister, Chang stated that among all the government departments, School Education is the most important as it moulds the future leaders and also the nation builders.
He therefore called upon the officials and staff to make sacrifices and work hard to build a better future and make the department much better than what it is today.
He also appealed that they should work towards transforming into a “Clean Department” in line with the clean election campaign of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council by timely disposal of all the files and discharging the respective duties with sincerity.
Seeking cooperation and support of the department staff, he appealed, “let us work together as a family to bring changes and erase the misconception of the people about the department”.
“Let us serve the state and produce students for a better future”, he urged, while also asserting that the problems faced by the staff would be looked into seriously.
Giving a brief background of the department, Director, B. Tingshem Konyak said that even as there are over 22000 employees in the department, the main problem faced is in the rationalization of teacher’s placements. He also expressed hope that the department would see improvement under the leadership of the new minister.
The programme was chaired by the Commissioner & Secretary of School Education, T. Imkonglemba (IAS) while the Principal Director, M. Patton (IAS) delivered the welcome address and the Additional Director (HSS), Kedusho Phesao tendered the vote of thanks.
