Zunheboto, September 8 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office Zunheboto held its review meeting for District Vector Borne Officer staffs at NVBDCP Office on September 6.


District Media Officer, CMO office Zunheboto in a press release stated that Dr CW Tungoe, CMO, Zunheboto briefed the participants to co-ordinate with all the vertical programmes and advised the MTS to be regular in their place of posting and cautioned  that stern action will be taken to the erring staff. He also encouraged all the staff to work with dedication, stating that service to humanity is service to God.


Dr K Akaho Sema, Dy CMO cum DVBO in his keynote address motivated the health workers to honestly and sincerely perform their duties.


He urged the workers to improve their performance in every field and improve the target and monthly reporting. He further challenged all the staffs to perform duty diligently and encouraged the health workers to motivate the community to come forward for check up.  He also informed the staffs to do away with casual and under reporting. 


Mudosayi Huire, Consultant, NVBDCP highlighted the staff’s performance and gave power point presentation on the epidemiology of the district and the plans and vision of malaria elimination in the district. He gave a brief overview of the district vector programme.


Malaria Technical Supervisors (MTS) gave power point presentation on their respective blocks’ performance. Laboratory technicians  re-oriented the surveillance workers on slide smearing.  The MTS were also re-oriented on reporting formats.


Hekuto Zhimo, SMI-DVBO chaired the meeting and gave the welcome address. The training was attended by CMO, Deputy CMO, SMI, DVBDC, MTS, SWs, lab technicians and DEOs.
