Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) today appreciated the Government and members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly for taking up the demand of CNCCI and for unanimously agreeing to form a committee with regard to the SARFAESI Act and its implementation in Nagaland.
“The CNCCI consider this move as a ‘path breaking’ decision taken by our leaders, especially during this post-pandemic time when the economic scenario everywhere is facing its worst fate and every stakeholder is bearing the brunt without any respite,” stated its Chairman, Dr Khekugha Muru and General Secretary, Dr Seyievilie Mor in a press release.
The CNCCI has apprised the government through representation and on various important meeting with state government officials and people in power, the urgent need for the implementation of this Act which was enacted by the parliament way back in 2002 and the Nagaland state is almost two decades behind in implementing the act, without which there is bleak chance or no opportunity for fast growing community of first generation young business people and entrepreneurs in the state.
While lauding the NLA, the CNCCI has further appealed the government to constitute the committee at the earliest to expedite and take forward the issue on a priority level if needed even call for NLA special session.
The CNCCI assuring full corporation stated that it is ready to give any inputs as the Committee may require. It further requested every stakeholder across the table to cooperate and understand the need for a policy change and reformation in the existing system when it comes to the economy, land and banking sector of the state.
“Only then can the state move ahead with the changing dynamics and pave better ways and opportunities for entrepreneurs and younger generation creating a sustainable ecosystem along the way,” it stated.
