Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): Dimapur District Anglers organised angling competition for anglers at Musu Angling Club, Hoito Village on June 9.
DPRO Dimapur in a report stated that besides anglers from Dimapur, more than 200 anglers including participants from Shillong, Assam, Manipur and different districts of Nagaland participated in the day long competition which started at 7:00 am.
Total prize money of Rs.2,50,000 was given to the winning participants in various categories. The first prize went to Heto from Dimapur who received a cash prize of Rs.50000 followed by Rokohor from Kohima who received a cash prize of Rs.30,000 who also received a cash prize of Rs.5000 for the biggest catch. The 3rd prize was bagged by Abdul from Assam who received a cash prize of Rs.20,000.
Pur, 71 year old from Dimapur, the senior-most angler was also awarded a special prize. All three female anglers were also given special prizes. Cash Prizes was also given to all the anglers (19 anglers) who got catches on the day.
On the occasion lottery pick was held where the two lucky winners were given portable outdoor cooking gas. The owner of Musu Angling Club announced that angling will be open for all angling lovers from coming Monday till Tulini (July 8) dubbed as Tuluni offer and the winners will be awarded Rs. 10000 followed by Rs. 5000 and Rs. 3000 respectively.
