
Kohima, January 2 (MExN): Condolences poured in for Mhonshan Murry (Asha), former minister, who passed away in Kohima on January 1.
NLA Speaker, Chotisuh Sazo has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
Home Minister Y Patton described Mhonshan Murry as one of the successful politicians from Wokha district and said he had contributed for the betterment of the people and the youths of the district. “In his death, the Naga people have lost a Naga leader and the void created by his death will be difficult to fill.”
Ex-Parliamentarian Association of Nagaland in a separate condolence note stated that late Mhonshan Murry was a dedicated leader who tirelessly worked for the uplift of the people. “His desire to serve the people with humility made him live a life of principled public leader,” acknowledged the note from T. Khongo, President, Ex-PAN. “His passing away is an irreparable loss to the State in general and the Lothas in particular. The valuable contributions he rendered to the people as a politician, social worker and statesman for the cause of the people will always be cherished.”
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central HQ Kohima said in Mhonshan’s death, “we have lost an efficient leader whose contribution towards people’s welfare was immense, and was a person with legal acumen who retired from active politics since quite some years.” NPF extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
NPCC President, K Therie termed the former Minister a tall statesman and a pioneer politician who held many important instrumental positions during his career. “His passing away has caused a vacuum which will be difficult to fill and the loss is shared not only by the bereaved family members but also by the people of the community and state.” He conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
