COVID-19: Nagaland tally breaches 500-mark, 182 recoveries

With 42 new positive cases reported in Nagaland, the total number of persons who have tested positive for the virus in the state touched 501 on Wednesday.


Out of the new cases, 31 were reported from Peren, Phek reported 8 while Kohima and Dimapur districts reported 2 and 1 respectively. 


The number of active cases in the state has now reached 319.


On the other hand, 14 patients ‘recovered’ from the disease on July 1, taking the total number of recoveries to 182.


The recoveries were reported from Dimapur district - 10 from Assam Rifles Hospital, Sukhovi and 4 from Dimapur COVID-19 Hospital.


The state has not witnessed any COVID-19 related deaths so far.


As per official updates, all the active cases are asymptomatic and are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.


 
Highest number of active cases in Peren


Among the districts, Peren now has the highest number of active cases at 114 while Kohima has 94, as per the daily Bulletin issued by the Health and Family Welfare, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.


Dimapur district has 40 active cases while Mon has 38. Tuensang has 20 active cases while Wednesday’s new cases take Phek’s tally to 9.  Zunheboto and Phek districts reported 3 and 1 case respectively.
