MON, APRIL 11 (MExN): Following the Central Government’s directive to improve the COVID-19 vaccination coverage, a vaccination mela was held in all blocks of Mon District on April 11 for persons of age 45 years and above, health care workers and frontline workers. 

The mela was held with an aim to sensitise the crowd during the Church services and for easy access, vaccination sites were created near the church premises.

In maximizing the effort, a sensitisation drive was held in all the churches of Mon Town by the administrative officers, doctors and staff of the Department of Health & Family Welfare.

The effort was led by DC Thavaseelan K, IAS; Dr Aman, gynaecologist; Dr Shasinle Tep, DIO; Rahul Mali, ADC; Dr Mero, WHO; Thrijungba Chasher; Bangchem, VACC; Chubasanen Ozukum, EAC Mon; Imolemba, Yanithung N Ngullie, SDO (C), Angjangyang; Imliwabang Aier, EAC, Longshen; Imtiakum Pongen, SDPO Mon; and Lithrila Sangtam, SDO (C), Mon.

A total of 310 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 1:00 pm when the report was filed by Leeyan Chemshy, Media officer, Mon NHM.
