
Wokha, July 23 (MExN): As part of an initiative to diversify agricultural and economic activities in Nagaland, the District Administration of Wokha in collaboration with CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat, has invited expressions of interest from farmers and farming groups for participation in high-value flower cultivation projects in the district.
As pre the DIPR report, this floriculture initiative will focus on the cultivation and promotion of Peony, Ranunculus, and Gladiolus varieties, aimed at boosting income-generation and sustainability for local farmers. The programme is expected to bring long-term value by integrating scientific research, seed distribution, and market linkages through structured training and support modules.
The call for participation is open to progressive farmers, SHG members, FPOs, NGOs, youth organizations, and entrepreneurs who wish to engage in high-value horticulture. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) forms on or before July 25 to the District Administration, Wokha.
The programme will also include capacity-building sessions, expert interactions, and exposure to best practices in floriculture. Successful applicants will be considered for guided implementation, resource allocation, and linkage to wider economic opportunities.
