CVA ‘A’ lifts 1st Imonungba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy

Changtongya Volleyball Association ‘A’ (CVA) were declared the champions of the 1st Imonungba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy after beating their arch rival MH-10 Kohima (Senior)at Public Ground, Changtongya on the evening of November 10. The trophy was organized by the Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA) and powered by Lenjeter, a monthly Ao Magazine.

In an intense final match between CVA ‘A’ and MH-10 Kohima (Senior), CVA ‘A’ took full advantage of the home turf and with immense crowd support won the trophy  39/37, 25/22, 18/25, 25/21. CVA ‘A’ and MH-10 Kohima (Senior) had two final encounters earlier this year at the 15th Master Imchaba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy and Luke Sasong Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2022. 

The champions CVA ‘A’ were presented with trophy, citations and cash award of Rs.80,000; Runners up MH-10 (Senior) were presented with citations and monetary award of Rs.40,000 while the two semifinalist- MH-10 (Junior) and Tuli Volleyball Team were presented cash prizes of Rs.10,000 each.

The individual awards of the tournament were presented to Sarilepzung from CVA ‘A’ for Best Setter; Imkongsanen from CVA ‘A’ for Best Spiker; and Temsülong Walling from Yimyu for Best Libero; while Hayika from MH-10 (Senior) was awarded Player of the Tournament.

Earlier, Mayang Lima, Upa-Lokayukta, Nagaland attended the closing program as the chief guest and Imnatiba Jamir, MLA & Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Labour& Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland as chief host.
