CWA selection camp for belt wrestling on Sept 13

In view of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) announcing the 12th All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation Championship 2024 (AITWPF) selection camp scheduled for September 19 at Multi-Purpose Hall “B” Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) informed all the CWA affiliated units and interested wrestlers to come forward for the selection camp at CWA level on September 13 at TT Stadium, Pfutsero town from 8:30 AM onwards.

The CWA shall select best two wrestlers from each category for both Men & Women to represent CWA in NWA Selection Camp, according to CWA general secretary Kukhoto Venyo.

Men Category (Belt wrestling)
Seniors & Juniors (18 years & above): Born in 2006 & before. Weight division: 45Kg, 49Kg, 54Kg, 59Kg, 65Kg, 71Kg, 80Kg, 90Kg, 100Kg, +100Kg.
Women Category (Belt wrestling)
Seniors & Juniors (18 years & above): Born in 2006 & before.
Weight Division: 41Kg, 45Kg, 50Kg, 56Kg, 63Kg, 70Kg, +70Kg.

Weight measurement
The CWA informed that weight measurement will take place on the same day (September 13) from 8:00 AM onwards. (Two) best wrestlers from each category shall be selected for NWA Selection Camp.

CWA first general assembly
Meanwhile, the CWA will hold its first General Assembly Meeting on September 16 at GA Guest House, Phek Town at 11:30 AM. CWA president Vezohu Ruho and press secretary Vizo Leah requested all the newly elected CWA Office Bearer’s and two representatives of each affiliated Units to attend the said meeting positively.
