Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): The Dimapur Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship (DBPF) today encouraged everyone to refrain from stigmatizing anyone because of COVID-19.
While proper adherence to the SOP issued by the authorities are being observed, the Fellowship in a statement issued by its President, Rev S Vitoshe Swu said, “we should also be vigilant about what is in our hearts and minds about people infected with COVID-19 or have returned from a Red Zone or are working amongst those who are suspected to be infected. We should take care that we have only love and care for them.”
DBPF encouraged everyone staying in Nagaland to continue to show care and love. “Just as real as our love for each other is, there exists an undeniable fear in both the urban and the rural areas. This may perhaps lead us to undo the many acts of goodness that we have shown each other since the start of the pandemic,” it stated.
The Forum appreciated the Government of Nagaland for all the effort exerted to stop the spread of the virus and said, “The churches are always in prayer for all the authorities and those working relentlessly day and night. We encourage the Government to remain vigilant and transparent in all that you do. The Government and all those in administration are in a paradoxical position, in that you are a leader as well as a servant at the same time. But we want to address you as our leaders. And as leaders it is always wise to remind ourselves that there is wonderful Master above us all. Give your best and your all.”
Meanwhile, addressing to believers, DABPF said, “let us make sure that he finds us reading the Bible, Praying, having fellowship with our family members, sharing of Gods merciful acts in our lives and last but not in any way the least, let us make sure that he finds us with love In our hearts for our fellow beings in Nagaland.”
