During the meeting, DC Tuensang highlighted the concept of creating a ‘District hub for empowering women.’ She emphasised the importance of eradicating the drug menace in the villages and encouraged the citizens to work together to establish drug-free villages. Such efforts, she noted, would be a blessing for the area and its villages.

As part of the mission ‘Shakti,’ the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHEW) in Tuensang, along with the chairperson and Deputy Commissioner, engaged in various activities. These activities included the felicitation of girl children and conducting spot registrations for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Training sessions for Anganwadi and ASHA workers were organised to enhance their skills and knowledge.

The team’s visit extended to Noksen village, where they conducted inspections and assessments. One of the key points of interest was the damaged Bhumji Bridge located at the Dikhu River, the DIPR report added.
