DC issues restraining order against proposed memorial structure

  DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): On the reported proposal of the Diphupar Village Council (DVC) to develop a memorial structure at the Agri Expo site, 4th Mile, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has issued a ‘Restraining Order’ against the same until further notice.   The order issued by DC Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome on Tuesday stated that the restraining order (vide office letter No-VLS-4/2008-D/Pt-I/4542, Dated 25th July 2017) stopping such development would be in effect till further notice as proposal has been submitted to the Government seeking direction.   Sources from the district administration Dimapur said the State Government was in the process of examining whether to allot land to allow the proposed memorial structure to be constructed at the Agri Expo site area, which belongs to the government.   In another related circular from the Home Department, the Diphupar Village Council was permitted to convene a prayer meeting at 8:00 am on August 9, 2017 in the vicinity of the Agri Expo site.   The circular issued by Temjen Toy, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) said the DVC should ensure that “no untoward incident takes place.”
