DC Zunheboto appeals for a plastic free district

Zunheboto, September 23 (MExN): World Clean-up Day-cum-International Peace Day was held on September 21 at Zunheboto. It was organized by Cornerstone Bharat Scouts and Guides to mark the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.


A DIPR report stated that Deputy Commissioner and District President NBSG, Peter Lichamo urged the denizens of the district to work towards making Zunheboto a plastic free district in Nagaland, and added that the burning of plastics spoil the whole environment. He further urged the gathering to stop using plastics at home, schools and offices and that the district administration is working towards Pollution Free Environment in the district. The DC also encouraged the students to make peace in their own little way at homes, schools and with friends and requested them to be an instrument of peace in the district.


Some placards carried among the students read as ‘Love the Earth’, ‘Restore the Nature,’ ‘Water is life.’
