DC Zunheboto calls for strict compliance with order

Zunheboto, March 26 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo has issued an order for strict compliance to all concerned and to be applicable throughout Zunheboto district with immediate effect. 


Any kind of religious congregation in any place of worship is prohibited without any exception. In case of funerals, congregation of not more than twenty (20) persons shall be permitted.


All the Village Councils/GBs to restrict movement of public within its respective jurisdiction, especially those coming in and going out from outside their respective village jurisdiction and any kind of social gatherings, ceremonies, etc, involving large number of people to be stopped. The VCC/GBs are to ensure that every effort is made for wide publicity and strict compliance.


All Area Administrative officers having points of entry into Zunheboto district within their jurisdiction to ensure that only vehicles transporting essential commodities are allowed for movement in their respective jurisdiction. A format may be prepared in coordination with the concerned MO/RRT to record the demographic details, origin and destination etc., of the driver and handyman which may be tallied to ensure accountability during return/exit.


All road construction activities under NHIDCL/National Highways within Zunheboto district jurisdiction limits shall remain suspended with immediate effect.


Movement of vehicles is hereby prohibited from midnight of March 25, except for the purpose of buying essential commodities, for availing medical facilities and other genuine emergency purposes with written permission from the DC or any other officer authorized by him. Government vehicles of departments other than those departments listed as exception shall also be restricted. Further, only upto two occupants per vehicle shall be admissible for shopping essential commodities.


No person/group of persons shall resort to any kind of rumour mongering or create/forward any kind of unsolicited information relating to COVID-19 in any social media platform like Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. Defaulters shall be penalized as per relevant provisions of the law.


The shops selling essential commodities shall strictly adhere to the timings between 8 AM to 12.00 PM only. No shop shall be allowed to be open beyond 12PM, therefore the public are informed to their daily shopping during the prescribed timings.
The shops selling essential commodities are reminded that anyone resorting to hoarding or selling of goods at unreasonably exorbitant prices shall invite severe punitive actions under relevant sections IPC and The Essential Commodities ACT, 1995.


Public are advised not to resort to panic buying. Public are also advised not to crowd and to maintain a distance of at least 3 feet amongst themselves while shopping.


Any person/group of persons acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of The Indian Penal Code and also under Section 51 to 61 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
