DDTA holds dual Taekwondo championships in Dimapur

Dimapur, October 21 (MExN):  The Dimapur District Taekwondo Association (DDTA) successfully hosted the 6th Inter School Kyorugi and the 1st Inter School Poomsae Taekwondo Championships at MDSC (Multidisciplinary State Sports Complex) Stadium here from October 17 to 18.

As per a DDTA release, more than 200 participants from 20 schools and Taekwondo academies across Dimapur district competed in the two-day event, which aimed to promote the martial art form and instil values of discipline and sportsmanship among students.

Kendriya Vidyalaya (Khatkhati) emerged as the overall team champion, while Hollotoli School and Dreamworks Taekwondo Academy secured the first and second runners-up positions, respectively. 
Pilgrim Higher Secondary School (HSS) was adjudged the Best Disciplined Team.

Earlier opening ceremony, held on October 17, was graced Kevin Gongmei, Education Secretary of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), who served as the Guest of Honour.  In his address, he encouraged the young athletes and highlighted the importance of Taekwondo in holistic student development. DDTA General Secretary Tridibesh M Chowdhury  also spoke on the occasion. 

The championship concluded with a medal ceremony for both Kyorugi and Poomsae categories, celebrating the efforts of the winners and participants, the release added/ 
Participating institutions included Maple Tree School, Hollotoli School, Holy Child School, MGM HSS, Lima Aier HSS, Dreamworks Taekwondo Academy, Raindrops Academy, St. Thomas HSS, Pilgrim HSS,, St. Mary’s HSS,. (Padumpukhuri), Kendriya Vidyalaya (Khatkhati), Great Commission HSS, Inaus Dojang, Kuda Taekwondo Club, Yimkongs Taekwondo Club, Dimapur Taekwondo Academy, Dimapur City Taekwondo Club, Indian Tiger, Singrijan Taekwondo Academy and Taikho Taekwondo Club.
