A dedication ceremony for the team members of Tuensang District was held on September 14 at the residence of the treasurer of the Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA). The players will represent Tuensang district in the 23rdInter-District Football Championship, Dr. T Ao Trophy 2024, which will take place at the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground from September 17 to 27.
The program, chaired by Hopong, Vice President of TDFA, began with an invocation by Mongchoa, District Coach. Speeches were delivered by Yangdipi, President of TDFA, and Er Chingmak, Advisor of TDFA. Yangdipi urged the players to make the most of their home ground advantage and to uphold discipline, emphasizing that success on the field is built on respect for both the game and the team. “Discipline is key not just in football, but in life,” Yangdipi remarked, encouraging the players to use this opportunity to showcase their skills on familiar turf.
Er Chingmak inspired the team by reminding them of the pride in representing their district. He emphasized that wearing the district’s colors comes with responsibility, not just to the game but to their community. “You are not just playing for yourselves, you are playing for Tuensang. Be proud of this opportunity and play with honor,” he stated, highlighting the importance of commitment and teamwork.
Rev H Sangkap, Pastor of Tuensang Town Baptist Lashong, dedicated the kits and prayed over the players. He spoke about the values of humility, teamwork, and discipline, drawing from the Bible, particularly from the book of Peter. The program concluded with a mass benediction, where all gathered in prayer for the team’s success.
