DEF Wokha upholds ‘My culture, My identity’

Wokha, November 13 (MExN): ‘My culture, My identity’, a cultural programme was organised by Regimental School DEF Wokha in the school campus with Aotula T Imchen, IPS Superintendent of Police Wokha as special guest on November 13.

Stressing on cultural values and importance of preserving traditional practices and values, Imchen noted, “Our culture is our way of life, if we do not preserves, it will decay and die.”

Soriso Quinker, NPS Addl SP & Chairman of the School managing Board Wokha exhorted the gathering and spoke on the importance of family and role of parents in this fast changing world and changing times.

Student of the school presented cultural folk song, dance, poem and story.

The programme started with a God’s blessing invoked by Zuben N Ngullie, Pastor, Police Baptist Church. The programme was also attended by Thungdemo Kyong (Chief Team Metamorphosis) and his colleagues. Other highlights included folk song by students of class 8-10, poem by Areni Odyuo of class, story narration by Renbemo Ngullie and traditional attire parade by student from LKG-Class 10. 

It was followed by exhibition of cultural artifacts, attires, Lotha Naga Morung, display of seeds, medicinal plants and indigenous games and interaction of students with the special guest.
