There is nothing wrong with the delimitation process that people have to rouse against it. Infact it is a good exercise to bring changes in the area of the constituency and readjust seat to the deserving constituency, if people are fair enough then it should be taken as an opportunity for change of system and functioning of the present electro-politics in Nagaland where a particular candidate dominate and rule people for decades by means of corruption such as nepotism, favouritism and by deceitful means. If examine from the perspective for a good changes that we all desire and cry for, Delimitation should be welcomed with an open heart and in a positive attitude. However it is sad to note that in Nagaland the politician have politicize the Delimitation issue on tribal line in order to save their personal advantages to dominate a certain area for political gain. There is no doubt that for many decades some tribe have been enjoying abnormal constituency depriving other deserving tribe which is unjustifiable, if the present Delimitation exercise can bring equal representative of all the tribe in the Assembly the moral of the Democracy and the constitution of India is effective in protecting the right of the people in all fair means. The inefficiency and lack of competence of the present elected MLAs was shown in the recent resolution of the Assembly going against the 2001 population census of Nagas but have demanded more seat for Nagaland knowing fully that allotment of seat depend on the strength of population. Where is the logic that population of Nagaland should be reduce by all means whether people exist or not and maintain for status-quo demand, do the government mean, if more seat is allotted more seat should go to those tribe who have already an access constituency and those deserving tribe can be deprived and neglected. The government could have taken people into confidence if it feels the Delimitation process was not good for the Naga and the demand for more seats to Nagaland as per the Assembly resolution is the answer, the government should have the confident of the people and their support first. Has the government taken this important issue to the people for discussion or has the government created a platform for public discussion. There was never ever a positive attitude of the government on this issue. I doubt the assembly resolution was just a political vendetta and has no reason or interest for the people. So here when we cannot think of any justice for ourselves, let’s leave it to the Delimitation commission of India to exercise its wisdom and do justice
