Peren, October 12 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Youth Front Nagaland ZYF (N) has appealed corporates/proprietors/companies to desist from stalling major developments and infrastructures in Peren district.
In a press statement issued on October 12, the ZYF (N) expressed dismay to learn that the proposed road construction project from Tenning to Leike which was approved by the ministry of Development of North East Region (DONER), Government of India had been stalled because of the pending case at Kohima bench Guwahati High Court.
It informed that the organization had been trying to unearth all the vital information regarding infrastructure development which are underway and which are on the pipeline through its fact finding committee by filing RTI in every development oriented department.
As per the committee’s finding, the ZYF (N) said that the road construction project from Tenning to Leike in Peren District which was sanctioned under North East special road development scheme (NESRDS) ministry of DONER had been stalled since 2016, due to pendency of case at Kohima bench Guwahati which was filed by the proprietor M/s Hi-Tech construction against Nagamitech infrastructure development corporation limited who was selected for the project.
In this regard, the ZYF (N) requested both contending parties to settle their differences outside the court by withdrawing the case, so that work order can be initiated at the earliest possible time.
Nsong Sub- Division being one the most remote area needs special concentration from the government, the organization stated.
While flaying those individuals involved in stalling the project, the ZYF (N) said that the surrounding villages have been suffering untold miseries due to the deadlock as such most of their agriculture products are untapped, beyond the reach of government agencies. “And all this factors emanates from one sector of development i.e. lack of Infrastructure Development Road and Bridge,” it observed.
The organisation further stressed that the PMGSY project which was implemented in the year 2012 in this region of the district was a ‘fiasco’ for reasons best known to the contractors and concerned department.
As such, the ZYF (N) made a strong appeal to the DONER ministry to reconsider the de-sanction order and also appealed for withdrawal of the case.
“Nsong sub-division being the most remote and neglected area of Peren district needs the concentration of the state Government to take up the matter seriously for the upliftment and development of the people,” it asserted.
